Tricone rock bits  or called tricone bits, rock roller bits,  roller cone bits , which  is mainly used for oil & gas, mining, water well drilling. In 1933 two Hughes engineers, one of whom was Ralph Neuhaus, invented the tricone bit, which has three cones.
